Thank you to the voters of the 48th district for giving me the opportunity to serve in the legislature again this year. It is seriously an honor and a privilege. My fellow legislators elected me the chairman of the Ways and Means committee this year – responsible for both revenue and budget policy. This is a tremendous responsibility and I’m honored that they had the trust in me to give me this job in these difficult times.

The budget this year was quite painful, and I’ve written about it extensively on my non-campaign blog www.rosshunter.info. In the middle of one of the painful debates some members were complaining about the hand we had been dealt. Rep. Springer from Kirkland asked the crowd which of them would prefer to be at home and have their opponent here instead and the room quieted, and then we went back to work. I’m glad I got to do the job, painful as it was.

Redistricting makes running for re-election difficult, as none of us know where our boundaries are, but for now I’m assuming I’ll be running in the same place and would value your support. Early money helps deter opponents!

Thank you all for your support over the years.

Sincerely,
